Skipping has existed for a very long time and it has been proven to be a fun, simple and easy way to get the body exercise.
Another thing that is interesting is that, ropes are easy to find on the market and you can even have a homemade one. It is also not difficult finding a space for jumping since any flat, levelled and cleared area at home can be used.
Let me tell you other reasons why it is beneficial to choose rope jumping as an exercise option. Skipping a rope helps you to decrease your possibility of getting knee and ankle injuries. Skipping gives you a good balance unlike most outdoor exercises.
Rope jumping also helps your body to stay and keep in shape. Skipping help the body to burn at least 300 calories when done for 30 minutes and above and this helps you stay in shape if you do it consistently.
Rope jumping is a great tool when you have a goal to lose weight. Keeping a good rope jumping routine can really benefit you in shedding off excess fat and weight and help you achieve your goals in your weight loss journey.
Skipping is also a good workout for the heart. It improves the heart rate and helps to pump enough blood properly. Skipping is considered one of the best cardio workouts.
Finally when you are recovering from injuries, skipping is one good exercise they can embark on. Skipping works the whole body and allows the bone density to increase whilst improving your posture.
There are a lot more benefits we can derive from skipping. I hope you find the ones I have shared helpful.
In that case, grab a rope and let’s do some jumping.
Four months after I delivered my baby in 2019, skipping was one of the exercises I started working out with. It’s just some few weeks to her first birthday and I have moved from a weight of 85kg to 70kg and skipping has been a great part of my weight management journey.
I jump the rope at least five times a week and I make sure I spend at least 40 minutes doing it. I try to just at least 200 times minimum but I mostly do 250 jumps.
It’s always an amazing feeling every morning after I’ve jumped my rope. It gives me a lot of renewed energy and it’s so much fun. I look forward every morning to a skipping session.
I get lucky to do most session with my daughters and they are my cheerleaders.
Try some skipping some time. It’s an amazing exercise in every sense.
